After exploring the Tsim Sha Tsui area, we decided to visit K11 MUSEA, one of Hong Kong’s most popular shopping destinations. The mall is filled with luxury brands and high-end boutiques, but shopping wasn’t really on our agenda. We were more interested in finding a good place to eat and experiencing what the locals enjoy.
While walking around the food hall, we noticed that Hong Kong Tea Café was packed with local diners. Seeing a restaurant filled with locals is usually a good sign, so we took it as our cue to give it a try. Since we were trying to stay within our travel budget, we aimed to spend around HKD 100 per person for the meal.
Kyle ordered the L3 Stir-Fried Noodles with Beef and added a drink for an extra HKD 8. I chose the L9 Char Siuan Prawn Rice, which already came with a regular drink for HKD 108. Our total bill came to HKD 211 (around Php 1,664.75).

I have to admit, I experienced a little culture shock when I saw the bill. Compared to our Bangkok trip last year, dining in Hong Kong is definitely more expensive. Still, we wanted to experience local food and see if it was worth the price.
As for the food, the Stir-Fried Noodles with Beef was easily the star of our meal. I would rate it 10/10. The noodles had a distinct flavor that felt authentically Chinese, and every bite was packed with taste. My Char Siuan Prawn Rice was also good, but I would give it an 8/10. The char siuan was flavorful, but I wished there were more prawns included in the serving. The vegetables, however, were surprisingly one of my favorite parts of the meal. They were fresh, perfectly cooked, and something I could honestly eat every day. The only thing that didn’t quite impress me was the milk tea. As someone who enjoys sweeter drinks, I found it a bit bland. But I also understand that Hong Kong-style milk tea may simply cater to a different taste preference, with less sweetness than what I’m used to.

Overall, despite the higher price point, I’m still glad we tried it. One thing I’ve learned while traveling is that eating where the locals eat often leads to the most authentic experiences. It may not always be the cheapest option, but it gives you a better glimpse of the local food culture and what residents genuinely enjoy.
Would I eat here again? For those noodles alone, absolutely! 🍜✨
