𝐌&𝐂 𝐁𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞 has been on my feed for quite some time, and I finally had the chance to check out their trending artisan almond bischoco in Iloilo. I also had the opportunity to talk to the owner’s daughter, Chesca, who happens to be a fellow Assumptionista — while her mom is a fellow Iskolar ng Bayan. Small world, right?
Chesca, the “C” in M & C, has been baking breads and sourdough with her dad for the past five years. Her dad had been scouting for the perfect location before finally opening their physical store along Lopez Jaena St. in Jaro. The street can be considered as the “pasalubong belt” of Iloilo since the area is home to well-known stops like ICreamhorn, Biscocho Haus and Superhouse Solutions Cafe Corp. making it a prime destination for local delicacies and coffee specialty finds.
According to them, their bestsellers are:
• Artisan Almond Bischoco – Php 110 per pack
•Onion Hopia
• Sourdough (available every Wednesday and Saturday)
I asked why their sourdough is only available on specific days, and I learned that it takes about two days to make. Most of the time, they’re already sold out before even reaching the shelves. It’s best to pre-order if you don’t want to miss out.
• Cheese Roll
• Cheese Ensaimada
• Pork Floss
• Butterscotch
• Meringue
• Pan de Coco
• Toasted Pastillas
• Sourdough Sugarless Ugoy-ugoy
If you’re looking for something new and proudly local to bring home, this might just be your next favorite Iloilo pasalubong.
